Unplugged, it has a nice strong midrange sound, like a small bodied 000 model. I will watch the neck for the next week to see if this will have any negative affect to the neck. It is deep sounding with a very sensitive preamp. fret inlay instead of Kramer. The necks were bolted on and featured a variety of headstock shapes and fingerboard inlays that evolved over the life of the line. They had a transducer pickup under the saddle with volume and tone controls. The idea was to create an acoustic guitarwith the feel of an electric. PRICE DROP Very rare Danny Ferrington Guitar. This is the first one Ive seen with the Ferrington logo as well as the Ferrington 12th. Kramer Ferringtons had very lightweight bodies and came in black, white, red, and sunburst.

Its been most likely made in 1987 and represents the Ferrington line of guitars and basses designed by the Nashville-based luthier Danny Ferrington. KRAMER FERRINGTONS If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ by clicking the link above. If however I dont like the sound it also came with 2 different 1/4' barrel jacks to connect to, so I could. I wonder if it may have been part of a prototype run.
#Kramer ferrington preamp serial number
This guitar has a pretty low serial number and its lack of Kramer markings makes me curious about the origin. I did give up some of the electric feel of the lighter strings, but I like the heavier action. Up for sale goes a rare bird: electric - acoustic Kramer KFB-2. It also came with the correct plug to simply plug into the ferrington preamp, so to the naked eye it will look and hopefully perform like an original ferrington. I know a little about the story behind Kramer/Ferrington. What a major difference! Not only did the intonation come into focus, but the tone of the guitar improved ten fold. I experimented with acoustic bronze strings and put on a heavier set (still 10's, but going to 48's on the bottom). intonation was a little rough and you can't intonate the bridge, so the instrument dictates what gauge set you can use. After cleaning all the finger gunk, taking all the strings off, checking the electronics (I did repair the battery leads to the preamp and put the red led back into it's proper place), I put on electric. When I first brought it home, I wasn't sure if this was something I would keep.
